As Halloween draws nearer, London's Fortnum & Mason has put some of its Halloween chocolates on sale, with savings of 25% on selected lines for a limited time.
So, what's included and what should you keep an eye out for in this sale? I've taken a look and detailed my favourite items below.
I should add I'm not sure when this sale ends, but suspect it'll be early November or while stocks last.

Ultimate Halloween Chocolate & Marzipan Selection
Now £123.75 | 1.6kg

I'm a huge marzipan lover, and this showstopping chest of marzipan and chocolates by Fortnum & Mason looks incredible. The Fortnum's Eau de Nil lidded box comes with a hidden drawer of treats below.
This mammoth 1.6 kilogram box contains handcrafted delicacies produced across Europe. There's everything from hand-painted marzipans; milk, dark and white chocolate truffles; marzipans; and nougat. There's even boozy Cassis jelly squares for good measure.

Trick or Treat Truffles Box
Now £14.20 | 125g

A box of dark chocolate truffles but not everything is as it seems. A chocolatey version of food heaven and hell, you'll be overjoyed if you pick one of the salted caramel truffles.
I'd love to see the look on your face as you chomp down on one of the less desirable chocolate truffles, containing garlic powder, fiery scorpion chilli powder, or hot curry powder. To be fair, chilli and chocolate plus curry and chocolate are combinations that actually do work well together, but I suspect the intensity of the spices in these truffles make them unpleasant.
This box is ideal as a fun after-dinner family game this Halloween, especially if socially distant trick and treating isn't feasible.

Pick Your Poison Boozy Truffles
Now £14.20 | 130g

If you love boozy chocolates, you'll like this orange gift box. Milk, dark and white chocolate shells contain an assortment of boozy fillings, making use of Fortnum's own Prosecco, London Gin, and Cassis.
Bellini Truffles are white chocolate shells hiding a Prosecco, Marc de Champagne, and peach puree filling. The Milk Chocolate Lime & Gin Truffles are self explanatory, while the Kir Royale Truffle consists of a Cassis, Marc de Champagne, and blackcurrant puree centre with a milk chocolate shell.

Milk Chocolate Coated Pumpkin Spiced Caramel Popcorn
Now £8.20 | 100g

Ordinarily, I'd get my Pumpkin Spice fix from Starbucks, but local lockdowns here in Wales means it's difficult to describe a Pumpkin Spice Latte (or PSL if you prefer) as an "essential reason" to cross the county border.
I've tried making my own spice blend and it's close to the real deal, but not quite there yet. But when I perfect it, I'll be blending it with chocolate and making my own pumpkin spice slabs.
Fortnum's popcorn takes this idea up another notch, by coating popcorn with caramel and a dusting of their pumpkin spice mix before smothering it in 35% milk chocolate. It sounds delicious.

Bonus: Chocolate Toad Gift Box
£25 | 130g

This doesn't appear to be included in the sale, but I couldn't resist writing about this incredibly detailed chocolate toad. I watched Sarah Hardy of The Edible Museum create these realistic chocolate toads over on her Instagram account, and the result is simply stunning.
Incredibly detailed, this toad could pass as the real thing, which makes it a fantastic gift to give to somebody who will appreciate the exquisite detailing that has gone into this hand-decorated piece of edible art.
The lifelike chocolate toad available on her website here is modelled on the endangered Natterjack Toad, and is twice the size of the real deal. It's a hollow model, cast in 33.6% Belgian milk chocolate. Sarah reckons they make great gifts for herpetologists, animal lovers, and they even have a cult Harry Potter fan following. She also says they're a great alternative to the humble Easter Egg.
The Fortnum & Mason milk chocolate toad is instead modelled on the Uncommon Toad, and is packaged in a lovely Fortnum's themed gift box. Personally, I think this would be ideal as a fabulously quirky Christmas gift for friends and family.

As these are on sale, and as Halloween gets closer, I suspect these will sell out very quickly, so be sure to get your order in while you can.
