I get the brief from you, and convert that into a format so my panel of chocolatiers can quickly ascertain whether they can help. Chocolatiers are a friendly bunch, but like any business owner, their time is precious. I put together a simple yet effective pitch that quickly gives them the details they need.
2 I contact my panel of chocolatiers
I contact my panel of chocolatiers, finding out which ones have availability to take on your project. Chocolatiers don't pitch to me, they simply express an interest in working on your project. I collate these responses, and filter them depending on which package you choose (for Bronze/Silver, I sort them in order of who responded quickest; for Gold, I rank them by how well I believe they fit with your pitch).
3 I send you a list of these contacts
I send you a list of these contacts and their email addresses so you know who to expect emails from, and who to contact to seek further information. The chocolatiers will pitch directly to you, giving you a price and delivery time frame. You choose who you want to work with, and contract with them directly.
4 A few weeks later, I will follow-up

- How long does it take to produce bespoke chocolates? It depends on your brief, but as a rule of thumb, the larger the project, the more time it will take. Don't leave it to the last minute. As an approximate guide, allow six to eight weeks to get from introduction to delivery. Start talking to chocolatiers in late October for a Christmas delivery, so they can set aside time for your project. Similarly, touching base in April for a June wedding is a smart move. The earlier, the better, especially for time-intensive projects.
- I've got a rough idea of what I want. Can a chocolatier help me nail my concept? This is where chocolatiers really excel. They can take a good idea and transform it into exceptional chocolates. The best briefs take advantage of chocolatier's palates to create mouth-watering flavours that compliment your event. Let them feed into your design and flavour concepts and you'll love the results.
- How much will it cost? Every project is different and so the honest answer is that it depends on what you seek. If you are looking for chocolates shaped as your logo, that will likely require a custom mould, which will cost more than a traditional-shaped chocolate. Similarly, if you're looking for a 3ft chocolate polar bear sculpture, that's going to take many hours to craft, so that's in a different league to creating a traditional Easter or Christmas hollow figurine. As a guide, the more traditional and standardised the shape of the chocolates, the cheaper per serving it should be. But, if your budget allows, bespoke shaped chocolates will create maximum impact - perfect if you need to impress influencers, dignitaries and other esteemed guests.
