THE WINNERS in the European Semi Final round of the International Chocolate Awards have been announced.

Gold awards went to legendary Michael Cluizel in the Dark Bar, Milk Bar and organic Dark categories.

Kent-based Damian Allsop's Eat London range triumphed in the Flavoured Dark Bar and Flavoured Milk Bar categories and he also scooped Gold in the Flavoured Dark Filled Chocolates category.

Damian told Chocolatier.co.uk, "the team and I are thrilled with our awards and are looking forward to the finals."

Paul A Young took first place in the Unflavoured Dark Filled Chocolates and Flavoured Dark Caramels categories.

Silver awards in various categories were received by other British chocolatiers including Rococo Chocolates, Matcha and Hotel Chocolat.

The verdicts were arrived at after three rounds of judging with a panel made up of food journalists and pastry chefs. Winners in the European Semi Finals will go through to an International Grand Final, to be held in London in October.
