Lickable wallpaper, unlimited sweets, and a bathtub full of chocolate - is there a better hotel room on this planet?
Today marks the 50th anniversary of the release of the iconic classic film, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. To celebrate, Laterooms and Bournemouth's The Chocolate Box Hotel are collaborating on a project to release a one-of-a-kind hotel room project.
The Willy Wonka Room promises to be a chocolate lover’s paradise.
The themed King Size room in purples and creams will come with Willy Wonka-inspired lickable wallpaper in a variety of fruity flavours. Don't panic - it's changed after each visit.
There's also a chocolate fountain with dipping fruit and marshmallows on hand too. Plus jars of gobstoppers, gumballs, chocolates, and sweets, as well as complimentary drinks such as luxury hot chocolate.
That's not all. Expect to find chocolate-scented toiletries as well as purple robes and slippers resembling the blazer worn by Wonka himself in the film.
And, of course, your room’s key card will be - yes, you guessed it - a golden ticket!
Priced from £200 per night, you'll want to spend as much time as you can in the room licking the walls, dipping fruit, and working your way through the jars of confectionery. The room is ideal for solo occupancy or for a romantic getaway with your nearest and dearest.
If it's a dirty weekend break you're after, then opt for the £150 extra of a chocolate-filled bathtub. That's right - you can bathe in a tub full of the good stuff! It's quirky, fun, bizarre, and probably the very thing in many chocoholic's wildest dreams. Whatever you decide to do with it, you'll need a shower to wash it all off afterwards. Thank goodness for those chocolate-scented toiletries!
The room isn't yet available on The Chocolate Box Hotel's website but there's a form to express interest on the Laterooms blog.
