Whittard of Chelsea has added new limited edition flavours to its line-up of hot chocolate powders.

Complimenting the typical range of plain and flavoured hot chocolate powders, these limited edition tubs and tins are only available for a short period. Different to the standard flavours (think mint, salted caramel, chilli, and the like), these short run hot chocolates let us try something a little bit different.

Here's a run-down of what's new in the limited edition collection.

1 Marzipan Hot Chocolate

Marzipan: good. Hot chocolate: good. Marzipan hot chocolate: <insert drooling emoji>!

Unlike the standard range of hot chocolates, this one is part of a line-up of three flavours presented in smaller tins. It's also a little more expensive than its taller counterparts, but that may well be thanks to the inclusion of organic Peruvian and West African cocoa and organic cane sugar. This is then flavoured with a subtly sweet taste of almond marzipan.

2 Cinnamon Hot Chocolate

In the same collection as the Marzipan Hot Chocolate, this cinnamon variant features the same base, making use of the a blend of organic Peruvian and West African cocoa together with organic cane sugar. Flavourings are replaced with organic cinnamon and cardamom to give a nice note of spiciness.

3 Ginger Hot Chocolate

The third product in the same collection as Cinnamon and Marzipan, this also has its origins in a blend of organic Peruvian and West African cocoa and organic cane sugar. Organic ginger and allspice add a fiery kick and an aromatic edge.

4 Coconut White Hot Chocolate

Instantly transport yourself to the tropics with a coconut flavoured hot chocolate. This sweet, smooth and creamy white hot chocolate is great for combatting the winter blues, evoking thoughts of sipping on piña coladas in paradise (just ignore the fact that you'll be sat on the sofa at home snuggled up in a thick, soft blanket).

5 Lemon Meringue White Hot Chocolate

Who doesn't love lemon meringue pie? This hot chocolate seeks to condense the classic dessert into hot chocolate form. Using white hot chocolate as a base, it includes zesty lemon and sweet meringue flavourings to form this limited edition powder in time for Easter.

6 100% Cameroon Cocoa Powder

This one stands out as it's the company's first single-origin cocoa and it heralds from the volcanic slopes of Cameroon. The region is known for its large, dark red cocoa beans that deliver an intense smokey flavour. As this isn't a hot chocolate powder, you'll need to mix this cocoa powder with milk and some sugar (ideally unrefined) to taste to craft your hot chocolate. Alternatively, use it in baking in place of your normal cocoa powder.

7 Blueberry Cheesecake White Hot Chocolate

You can always tell if a product is a hit if customers demand its return. This Blueberry Cheesecake Hot Chocolate is one such product and is back for this Valentine's Day. It uses a white hot chocolate base for creaminess and includes blueberry flavourings to create a hot chocolate version of yet another infamous dessert.

8 Raspberry Ripple Flavour Hot Chocolate

Whittard's white hot chocolate base appears to be the ideal carrier for many tastes, and in this particular tub, it is combined with the favouring of raspberry ripple ice cream. Available for Valentine's Day, this hot chocolate is both sweet and creamy, and it also turns the milk pink.
