Easter is nearly upon us, and if you are wondering what to do with the kids, why not treat them to a masterclass with chocolatier William Curley?
The London-based chocolatier, who has won The Academy of Chocolate's 'Britain’s Best Chocolatier' award four times, will be hosting a series of chocolate masterclasses this Easter at Searcys at The Gherkin.
This seasoned chocolatier has run his luxury chocolate business for over a decade. Prior to this he became the youngest Chef Pâtissier at The Savoy Hotel having trained with the likes of Pierre Koffmann, Raymond Blanc, and Marco Pierre White. What William Curley doesn't know about chocolate isn't worth knowing!
On Friday 12th April 2019, William Curley will be hosting two chocolate masterclasses. The 10am session - priced at a respectable £12.50 for children and £20 for adults - lasts an hour and is aimed at families, where kids will learn how chocolate is made. Everyone will enjoy tasting different types of chocolate, and the kids will especially love decorating their own Easter eggs.
The 2pm hour-long session is best suited to adults and groups (perhaps hen parties or friends celebrating a birthday in London). Priced at £35 per person, this session is more hands-on where guests will learn the skills necessary to produce some of William Curley's favourite creations. There's also a chocolate cocktail thrown in with each ticket.

Tip: The event appears to take place in the Iris bar on level 40, so if you're heading to London for a spot of sightseeing, be sure to book yourself this masterclass and steal yourself some amazing views out the window as you gaze over London!
Chocolate Tasting Menu
Not content with running masterclasses, William Curley has been busy collaborating with Searcys Development Chef, Shaun Rowlands, to devise a unique four-course chocoholic's dream menu from the sounds of it.
This is the perfect opportunity to ditch the kids for so you can enjoy a delicious four-course chocolate-inspired tasting lunch or dinner menu in a truly romantic setting.
Searcys has over 30 venues in the UK, but their restaurant in The Gherkin at 30 St Mary Axe in London is in one of the most enviable locations. The Helix restaurant high up on level 39 of the Gherkin boasts incredible views across the capital city and is such a remarkable location for such a delicious sounding meal.
The four-courses on offer are:
- Cauliflower and Berkshire Blue soup topped with cacao nibs.
- Rhug Estate venison loin with heritage carrots, spring greens, and game chocolate sauce.
- Orange and white chocolate granite.
- Willy’s chocolate mousse with brandy snap and Bailey’s cream.
You'll also receive a chocolate espresso Martini cocktail, plus a selection of chocolates enjoy with their coffee or to take home for later.
The menu is available from Monday 1st April 2019 through to Sunday 21st April 2019.
