Cadbury can trace its history back to 1824, when Quaker John Cadbury, a tea, coffee, and drinking chocolate merchant, began the family business. Dairy Milk chocolate was introduced in 1905 and quickly became a bestseller.

The company established Bournville, a quaint village in the West Midlands, for its workforce. Over time, the company grew and morphed. In 1919 it merged with Fry’s and then with Schweppes in 1969.

In 2010, Kraft Foods took over the business, which then split into two businesses in 2011. Mondelez International, Inc was the name for the snack division, under which Cadbury now sits.
