Countdown Begins to the Chocolate Safari Mini Cruise

Coeur de Xocolat takes to the North Sea in March 2020 as the Chocolate Safari heads to Bruges.

The P&O Ferries mini cruise will see guests travel from Hull to Zeebrugge and back again onboard a recently refurbished cruise ferry. The group will spend the day touring some of the most fabulous chocolatiers Bruges has to offer.

In 2020, David Greenwood-Haigh, award-winning chocolatier, will host a two-night mini cruise Chocolate Safari aboard a P&O Ferries' ship.

The 930-passenger Pride of Bruges will depart Hull late on Thursday 19th March 2020. On board, David will host a chocolate tasting masterclass, a truffle making class, and Q&A session.

Passengers will be free to enjoy the facilities on board the ship for the remainder of the evening. The vessel boasts shops, restaurants, bars, and even a nightclub with live music. Cabins are generally configured with bunk beds, with a en-suite shower room with a sink and toilet.

In the morning, the Chocolate Safari continues onto the quaint medieval city of Bruges. Guests will have the option to tour the historic city independently following a Chocolate Safari map, or join a group walking tour led by David.

During the leisurely walk, he'll call into a selection of independent chocolate shops, introducing guests to the chocolatiers to enjoy samples of delicious handcrafted Belgian chocolate.

Bruges has a high concentration of fantastic chocolatiers. Guests should have an opportunity to visit the likes of Dominique Persoone's The Chocolate Line, which is one of my all-time favourites for unusual flavoured filled chocolates.

Bruges has a wealth of cosy chocolate boutiques, including Chocolatier Roose, Pralinette, The Old Chocolate House, and Van Oost. Major Belgian chocolate brands, such as Dumon, Galler, Godiva, and Galler all have outlets in Bruges too.

Later that afternoon, passengers will head back to the port in Zeebrugge to board the ferry for the overnight sailing back home. David will host a final chocolate and whisky pairing onboard.

Pride of Bruges will dock early back in Hull on Saturday 21st March 2020 where passengers will disembark.

Premier cabins have a slightly more favourable location than standard cabins, but the amenities are much the same.
