Happi Free From Launches Chocolate Nibbles Snacking Range

Hot on the heels of launching a white chocolate collection, Oat Milk Chocolate Brand, Happi Free From, has revealed its new snacking range, known as Oat M!lk Chocolate Nibbles.

To begin, there are three products in the new bite-size range. Jumbo raisins, almonds, and and vegan honeycomb form the collection, each enrobed in Happi Oat M!lk Chocolate.

The launch is designed to tap into the growing vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, and allergy-friendly sweet treats market of products to be enjoyed on-the-go. The products are made in a factory that also handles milk, soya, nuts, peanuts, and wheat ingredients though.

Happi Oat M!lk Chocolate Nibbles Jumbo Raisins ingredients:
Dark chocolate (60%) (cocoa mass, sugar, dried gluten-free oat powder, cocoa butter, dried rice syrup, emulsifier (sunflower lecithin), flavouring (vanilla extract)), raisins (38.8%) (raisins, sunflower oil), glazing agents (gum arabic, zein (Maize Protein)). Cocoa solids: 46.5% minimum.

Happi Oat M!lk Chocolate Nibbles Almonds ingredients:
Dark chocolate (70%) (cocoa mass, sugar, dried gluten-free oat powder, cocoa butter, dried rice syrup, emulsifier (sunflower lecithin), flavouring (vanilla extract)), almonds (28.9%), glazing agents (gum arabic, zein (Maize Protein)). Cocoa solids: 46.5% minimum.

Happi Oat M!lk Chocolate Nibbles Vegan Honeycomb ingredients:
Dark chocolate (60%) (cocoa mass, sugar, dried gluten-free oat powder, cocoa butter, dried rice syrup, emulsifier (sunflower lecithin), flavouring (vanilla extract)), honeycomb (38.8%) (sugar, glucose syrup, sodium bicarbonate), glazing agents (gum arabic, zein (Maize Protein)). Cocoa solids: 46.5% minimum.

Happi recommends a 40g portion, meaning each pouch holds two-and-a-half helpings. The raisins contain 174kcal per portion, while the almonds come in at 215kcal per portion and the honeycomb is 219kcal per 40g. On average, the chocolate-covered raisins contain 48.7% sugars, 38.7% in the almonds, and honeycomb surprisingly contains just 23.4% sugars, according to the nutritional information on the packs.

The brightly coloured (and biodegradable) cardboard boxes are printed with vegetable-based inks in vivid aqua, purple and yellow colours and contain a film bag of snacks. Once empty, the film is suitable for home composting, meaning the packaging is free from single-use plastics.

Happi is a Montrose Chocolate brand and sits alongside sister-brands Danny's Chocolates, Cox & Co, and Benefit Chocolate

The company's website states it fairly and sustainably sources its ingredients and packaging, and guarantees "no child or slave labour" in their supply chain. It also claims Happi chocolate "contains 35% less sugar than other leading milk chocolate brands". The company pledges to donate 1% of annual net sales revenues to good causes and mental health organisations.

The oat milk chocolate snacks are available in 100g bags, with an RRP of between £3 and £3.50. You can find Happi products on Amazon°, at Selfridges, Ocado, Holland & Barratt, and at local independent retailers nationwide. You can also order direct from their website here.
